How it Works - What it’s Like Working with Mini Minds

Child receiving supportive behavioural therapy at their school in Toronto with Mini Minds consultant

Our process begins with a free consultation, followed by observation, a personalized plan, and ongoing support.

A Clear Path, Every Step of the Way

At Mini Minds, we believe families deserve clarity, compassion, and confidence in the process.

Here’s exactly what to expect when you begin working with Amy:

Step 1: Free Consultation

We start with a no-cost, no-obligation, 100% free conversation with parents or caregivers.

Many families in Toronto search for behavioural therapy but aren’t sure where to start. That’s why this free consultation is designed to help you explore child behavioural therapy options without pressure.

This is your chance to share your child’s story, their strengths, and the challenges they’re facing.

Amy will listen, answer your questions, and talk through the ways she can help.

Step 2: In-Person Observation

Next, Amy spends at least one hour with your child — either at home or at school — observing their behaviours and daily routines.

This kind of in-person behavioural observation is a vital step in creating a clear picture, whether your child is navigating ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other behavioural challenges.

This step allows her to connect what was shared in the consultation with what she sees in real time.

Most of the time, one observation is enough, though occasionally more than one may be needed for a complete picture.

Step 3: Personalized Plan & Strategy

From there, Amy develops a robust, fully tailored plan for your child. Nothing cookie-cutter — each strategy is built around your child’s unique needs, goals, and environment.

Unlike many other programs, Mini Minds builds personalized behavioural plans that fit your child’s unique goals. Whether that’s managing ADHD, supporting learning differences, or providing early intervention for autism spectrum disorder.

This plan is then shared and discussed with you, outlining what success looks like and how it can be achieved. Your feedback and input is a very important part of creating the final plan, so your child gets the exact kind of support they need!

This may include in-home support, in-school support, caregiver training, or a combination.

Step 4: 1:1 Ongoing Support

With the plan in place, Amy begins the direct work with your child. This includes:

  • 1:1 behavioural therapy sessions

  • Regular reports and progress updates (for parents, caregivers and any other member of the child’s support circle)

  • Training and strategy sessions with parents, caregivers and educators

  • Meetings with educators and school staff

  • Advocacy and support, day in and day out

Our ongoing work may include in-home behavioural therapy in Toronto, school-based collaboration with teachers, and parent/caregiver training for long-term success.

All 1:1 services, reporting, training, and strategy sessions are billed at Amy’s hourly rate, which will be discussed with you right from the very first consultation.
